Wall Shelves & Cabinets

Shelves and cabinets that hang on the wall and give the floor back. The NicNac trinket shelf is for the things you want to look at; the Balance cabinet is for the things you don't. Both are cut, sanded and oiled by hand in our Copenhagen micro-factory, in Valchromat® that's coloured all the way through.

  • Handcrafted in Copenhagen

    Every shelf and cabinet is built from scratch in our Copenhagen workshop. Each one is cut, sanded and oiled by hand.

  • Valchromat® and solid oak

    We use through-coloured Valchromat® and solid oak, finished with plant-based Rubio Monocoat® oil. The result is a matte, slightly leather-like surface that is pleasant to touch.

  • A place for the things you keep

    They store things, and they are made to be looked at too. The NicNac grid puts the things you love on show; the Balance cabinet keeps the rest behind doors.

The material

Wood fibre, coloured through

Valchromat® is a wood fibre panel coloured all the way through, with the warmth of wood and a hard-wearing surface. Unlike a painted surface, it is slightly mottled, with a leather-like texture in which you can still see the individual wood fibres. We finish every piece with plant-based Rubio Monocoat® oil. The finish protects the material while letting the tactile surface show through.

Minimalist wall shelves & cabinets

Danish design has always been about furniture that works and looks good. We make wall-mounted storage solutions for Scandinavian-style homes. Our floating shelves and cabinets get things off the floor and into order.

Our NicNac display shelves are a modern take on the old printer’s tray (known in Denmark as a ‘sættekasse’). The grid holds the small things you want to see: art, keepsakes and travel souvenirs. NicNac's compartments are fewer, larger and asymmetric, so each object gets its own space instead of disappearing in a crowd.

For everyday clutter you would rather not see, the Balance wall cabinet has no handles and doors that slide up and down. It works in a narrow hallway, in a bathroom or as a bedside station. The Wasteless shelf is made from high-quality off-cuts — hence the name.
