Birch Plywood Furniture

Plywood furniture built in birch: strong and stable, with the layered edge left on show. Birch is a pioneer tree that grows in abundance across Northern Europe. Made by hand in Copenhagen. See the Bjørk stool and dining table.

Birch ply is light, it holds a screw and it stays square — three good reasons to build furniture from it. Each piece is cut, assembled, sanded and oiled by hand in our micro-factory.

  • The Strength of Layers

Thin layers of birch glued in alternating directions make plywood more dimensionally stable than solid boards — with a striped edge we never cover up.

  • Birch from Northern Europe

Furniture-grade birch plywood from Northern Europe — birch is a pioneer tree that grows in abundance close to our workshop.

  • Handcrafted in Copenhagen

Cut, sanded and oiled by hand in our Copenhagen micro-factory — precision from the CNC, soul from the hand-finish.

Honesty in Materials

The Bjørk series pairs the light, striped grain of birch plywood with seats and tabletops in through-coloured Valchromat® — stools in three heights and a round dining table in two sizes (Ø110 and Ø120 cm). The construction is left visible, because how a piece is made is part of why it lasts.

Birch Plywood Furniture in Scandinavian Design

Birch plywood is the quiet workhorse of Scandinavian furniture: strong, stable and light, with a layered edge that shows exactly how each piece is built. Our birch plywood collection spans stools, side tables and dining tables — all handmade in our Copenhagen micro-factory.
