Bjørk – A minimalist dining table in birch and colour
Bjørk is a round table on four slim birch plywood legs with a Valchromat® top in the colour of your choice. It looks light in the room and feels solid at the table. The rounded edge is kind to your forearms, and the plain shape gets along with most chairs.
Two materials, one contrast
Bjørk pairs two materials that look nothing alike: the pale, striped edge of birch plywood and the deep, through-coloured surface of Valchromat®. We don't hide the construction. The layers of the birch stay visible along the edge, so you can see exactly what the table is made of.
Valchromat®: colour that goes all the way through
The tabletop is made from Valchromat®, a high-density wood fibre board that is coloured throughout. This is not a surface treatment or a paint job. If you scratch it, you find the same colour underneath. On a table that will see years of dinners, homework and spilled juice, that matters. Available in eight colours, from Light Grey and Black to the brighter Yellow, Orange and Red.
Two sizes for different homes
The Bjørk table is available in two round sizes: Ø110 cm and Ø120 cm. The 110 cm seats four comfortably, while the 120 cm gives you room for four to six people. Both sizes share the same slim, tapered birch legs and gently rounded top edge.
Made to order in our Copenhagen micro-factory
Every Bjørk table is built in our workshop once you've ordered it. We cut, assemble, sand and oil it by hand, so what arrives was made for you, not pulled off a shelf.
Tip: Complete the set The Bjørk table was designed alongside the Bjørk stool. Same materials, same proportions. The stool slides under the table when it's not in use, and you can match the colours or mix them — both work.
The buying experience is always efficient and pleasant
I have had the pleasure of shopping at Quirky Moose several times, and every time has been a great success!
I have bought two stools, and they are not only stylish in lovely colours, they are also incredibly practical. They move around the house a bit and get used as a plant stand, a bedside table for overnight guests and, of course, as a stool.
We also had custom fronts made for a whole wall of cabinets that needed an update, and the result is simply fantastic.
Stig is full of creative ideas and gives a personal service at the same time. The buying experience is always efficient and pleasant. Top quality, and all of it sustainable 👌🏼

Tasteful and functional
We bought 3 products for our new house. We use "Balance" as a medicine cabinet in a spot where we could barely fit a cabinet with ordinary doors. It works really well. Our everyday shoes sit just inside the door in "Grounded". Neat, and it works. Finally we have a "Wasteless" shelf in the bathroom. All of it in the blue colour with beautiful oak dowels.
It is functional, and we feel it adds a unique style to our home.
Vi købte 3 produkter til vores nye hus. "Balance" bruger vi som medicinskab på et sted, hvor vi dårligt ville kunne få plads til et skab med almindelige låger. Det fungerer rigtig godt. Vores dagligdags sko sidder lige inden for døren i "Grounded". Nydeligt og det virker. Endelig har vi en "Wasteless" hylde på badeværelset. Alt sammen i den blå farve med smukke egestokke.
Det er funktionelt, og vi synes det tilfører vores hjem noget unik stil.

Questions
Good to know
Missing an answer? Write to us and we’ll reply from the workshop.
What makes Bjørk a minimalist dining table?
There’s nothing on it that doesn’t need to be there: a round top, four tapered birch legs and a softly rounded edge. The colour does the rest.
Is the colourful top durable for daily use?
Yes. Valchromat® is coloured all the way through, so daily wear doesn't expose a different colour underneath. Use coasters under glasses and trivets under hot dishes, and wipe up spills straight away: a wet glass left standing for a long time can leave a ring. If that happens, the ring can be sanded away and the top re-oiled with Rubio Monocoat®.
How do I care for the surface?
Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and mild soap if needed. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive pads. To refresh the sheen over time, you can use Rubio Monocoat® Refresh Eco.
What materials are used?
Bjørk pairs birch plywood legs and base with a Valchromat® tabletop, finished with Rubio Monocoat® hard wax oil. The Valchromat® is coloured all the way through.
Will it fit small apartments?
Yes. Both sizes — Ø110 and Ø120 cm — are light on their legs, so they don’t crowd a small room. The Ø110 cm in particular works well in compact dining areas.
Are the edges comfortable and child-friendly?
Yes. The edge profile is softly rounded all the way around — no sharp corners, and comfortable against your arms during long meals.
Does the coloured top keep its look over time?
Yes. Valchromat® is coloured all the way through, so the colour doesn't wear off. Routine care plus occasional Rubio Monocoat® Refresh Eco keeps the surface in good shape. If scratches occur, the tabletop can be sanded back and re-oiled.
