Valchromat® is coloured during production, not painted afterwards. Scratch the surface and you'll find the same colour underneath — nothing to chip, peel or fade.
Denser and stronger than MDF, moisture-resistant, and finished with plant-based Rubio Monocoat® oil — built for the rhythms of a busy home.
Every piece is cut, sanded and oiled by hand in our Copenhagen micro-factory, with popular colours kept in stock.
Eight Colours, One Material
Valchromat® is a wood fibre board coloured through its entire thickness — rich, saturated tones with a softly matte, tactile surface. We build with eight shades, from calm greys to deep orange, yellow and blue, and leave the raw coloured edge on show, so the material itself becomes part of the design. Paired with solid oak details and plant-based Rubio Monocoat® oil, it ages gracefully in daily use.
Valchromat® Furniture in Danish Design
In Scandinavian interiors, colour is often left to textiles and art. Our Valchromat® collection puts it into the furniture itself: wall cabinets, display shelves, stools and dining tables in through-coloured wood fibre board that keeps its tone even when daily life leaves its marks.
Because the colour runs all the way to the core, a scratch never reveals a pale centre — a practical advantage over painted furniture. Every piece is handmade in our Copenhagen micro-factory. New to the material? Read our guide: What is Valchromat?
