Wall Shelves & Cabinets

Shelves and cabinets that hang on the wall and give the floor back. The NicNac trinket shelf is for the things you want to look at; the Balance cabinet is for the things you don't. Both are cut, sanded and oiled by hand in our Copenhagen micro-factory, in Valchromat® that's coloured all the way through.

  • Handcrafted in Copenhagen

Every shelf and cabinet is built from scratch in our Copenhagen workshop. We combine traditional craftsmanship with modern precision to ensure that every piece meets our uncompromising standards for quality and detail.

  • Premium, Tactile Materials

We use through-colored Valchromat® and solid oak, finished with plant-based Rubio Monocoat oil. This creates a unique, leather-like texture that is not only beautiful to look at but also incredibly inviting to touch.

  • A Sculptural Canvas for Your Treasures

Our designs are more than just storage; they are functional art. Whether it’s the iconic NicNac grid or the minimalist Balance cabinet, our pieces provide a calm, minimalist canvas to display and protect your most treasured items.

The material

The Depth of Color: A New Sensation of Wood

Valchromat is not just colored wood; it is a through-colored wood fiber panel that combines the natural warmth of wood with high durability. Unlike a homogeneous painted surface, Valchromat has a unique, "mottled" and leather-like texture where the individual wood fibers remain visible, creating a deep and vibrant look. To enhance this natural character, we finish every piece with plant-based Rubio Monocoat oil. The finish protects the material while letting the tactile surface show through.

Minimalist Wall Shelves & Cabinets for the Modern Home

Finding the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics is at the heart of Danish design. At Quirky Moose, we specialize in wall-mounted storage solutions that seamlessly blend into the Scandinavian interior. Our collection of floating shelves and cabinets is designed to help you organize your home while creating a calm, intentional atmosphere.

Our NicNac display shelves are a sophisticated, modern reimagining of the nostalgic printer’s tray (known in Denmark as a ‘sættekasse’). They provide a minimalist grid and a calm canvas for your most treasured items, art, and travel souvenirs. Unlike the cluttered shelves of the past, NicNac's asymmetric compartments create a dynamic yet balanced look that turns your collection into a curated gallery.

If you are looking to hide away everyday clutter, our Balance wall cabinet offers a sleek, handle-free look with its signature vertical sliding doors—ideal for narrow hallways, bathrooms, or as a bedside station. The Wasteless shelf is made from high-quality off-cuts — hence the name.
