About Adapt
Adapt – A coat rack you don't need to hide
Most coat racks look cluttered in use and bare when empty. Adapt is made to be seen either way: a solid oak rail and a row of brass hooks that hang in plain sight, not behind the door.
Tidy full or empty
The oak rail and the even row of brass hooks look tidy on their own. Loaded with winter coats or empty all summer, it can stay on show.
A raised profile on brass standoffs
Brass standoffs lift the oak clear of the wall, casting a soft shadow line beneath it. The rack looks like it floats.
Steel-cored hooks that hold their shape
Each hook has a solid steel core beneath its brass finish, so it carries heavy winter coats and weekend bags without bending over time. The brass darkens a little with age; it doesn't wear off.
Solid oak, handmade in our Copenhagen micro-factory
Every Adapt is built, sanded and oiled by hand in our workshop. It comes in five lengths, 50, 80, 100, 150 and 200 cm, so there's a size for a single spot by the door or a full family hallway.
Tip: Complete the set
Adapt was designed alongside the wall-mounted shoe rack Grounded. Both use solid oak and brass hardware. Together they make the hallway look like one set.

How it works
The screws hide behind brass

1Screw in the wall screwDrill a 10 mm hole, tap in a wall plug and screw in the wall screw until the washer sits tight against the wall.

2Slide on the brass tubeThe tube slides over the wall screw and hides it.

3Fit the oak railThe rail slides onto the wall screws. The set screw in the rail is tightened with a 3 mm Allen key and holds it all in place.

Choose the length by number of hooks
Every length sticks out 8 cm from the wall. 50–100 cm hangs on 2 wall screws, 150 and 200 cm on 3.

Tasteful and functional
We bought 3 products for our new house. We use "Balance" as a medicine cabinet in a spot where we could barely fit a cabinet with ordinary doors. It works really well. Our everyday shoes sit just inside the door in "Grounded". Neat, and it works. Finally we have a "Wasteless" shelf in the bathroom. All of it in the blue colour with beautiful oak dowels. It is functional, and we feel it adds a unique style to our home.
