Installation guide
Adapt
Wall coat rack
What you need and how to put up Adapt, one step at a time. The screws and wall plugs come in the box.
You'll need
- Drill with 10 mm bit
- T25 driver bit
- 3 mm hex key (Allen key)
In the box
Depending on the size purchased, this includes:
- 1x Adapt coat rack (with pre-inserted set screws)
- 2x T25 mounting screws (3x 150 cm version / 3x 200 cm version)
- 2x wall plugs (3x 150 cm version / 3x 200 cm version)
- 2x brass covers (3x 150 cm version / 3x 200 cm version)
- 2x brass washers (3x 150 cm version / 3x 200 cm version)
Before you drill
Before drilling, use a detector to check the wall for hidden pipes or electrical wiring.
Step by step
-
Measure and mark
Hold the Adapt coat rack against the wall at the desired height. Use a spirit level to ensure it is straight. Mark the position of the mounting points on the wall based on the pins on the back of the rack.
Note: The distance between pins varies by model. Always measure your specific unit.
-
Drill holes
- For masonry or concrete walls: Drill holes at the marked positions using a 10 mm drill bit. Drill to a depth of 70 mm. Ensure you drill straight (perpendicular to the wall).
- For plasterboard walls: Drill through the board with the same bit and use the wall plugs from the box.
- For wooden walls: Do not use the 10 mm bit. Instead, pre-drill 6 mm pilot holes for the mounting screws. Wall plugs are not needed for wood.
-
Insert wall plugs
Insert the provided 10 mm wall plugs into the drilled holes (not in a wooden wall).
-
Install mounting screws
Place a brass washer onto the thread of each T25 mounting screw. Using the T25 bit, drive the mounting screws into the wall (or wall plugs) until the washers sit flush against the wall surface.
-
Attach brass covers
Slide the brass covers over the exposed heads of the mounting screws.
-
Mount the coat rack
Align the back of the Adapt coat rack with the mounting screws. Push the rack onto the mounts. Secure the rack by tightening the pre-inserted set screws using the 3 mm hex key.
Cleaning and care
- Wood: Treat with furniture wax oil as needed.
- Brass: Polish with grade 0000 steel wool. Optionally, apply varnish to prevent patina (aging).
