Bjørk – A stool with a permanent place in your home
Bjørk was designed around one idea: a stool should be out every day, not fetched from a cupboard when guests arrive. It's colourful enough to leave out, and it works as a seat, a side table or a pedestal for your favourite plant.
From kids' stool to plant stand
In the kids' size, Bjørk is a sturdy, low stool that lets little ones sit on their own, and it still looks right in the living room. When the kids outgrow it, the stool moves on: as a plant stand by the window, a low side table beside the armchair, or a spare seat for guests.
Valchromat®: colour that goes all the way through
The seat is made from Valchromat®, a wood fibre board that is coloured through and through. This isn't a painted surface. Scratch it and you'll find the same colour underneath. On a stool that gets sat on, stood on, splashed and dragged around, that matters.
Handmade in our Copenhagen micro-factory
Every Bjørk is cut, assembled, sanded and oiled by hand in our workshop. Choose from eight colours and three heights, 36, 43 and 46 cm, so there's a Bjørk for the nursery, the sofa side, or the dining table.
Tip: Complete the set The Bjørk stool was designed alongside the Bjørk table. The stool slides neatly under the table when not in use, keeping the floor clear — and if you pick the same colour for both, they read as one set.
The buying experience is always efficient and pleasant
I have had the pleasure of shopping at Quirky Moose several times, and every time has been a great success!
I have bought two stools, and they are not only stylish in lovely colours, they are also incredibly practical. They move around the house a bit and get used as a plant stand, a bedside table for overnight guests and, of course, as a stool.
We also had custom fronts made for a whole wall of cabinets that needed an update, and the result is simply fantastic.
Stig is full of creative ideas and gives a personal service at the same time. The buying experience is always efficient and pleasant. Top quality, and all of it sustainable 👌🏼

Tasteful and functional
We bought 3 products for our new house. We use "Balance" as a medicine cabinet in a spot where we could barely fit a cabinet with ordinary doors. It works really well. Our everyday shoes sit just inside the door in "Grounded". Neat, and it works. Finally we have a "Wasteless" shelf in the bathroom. All of it in the blue colour with beautiful oak dowels.
It is functional, and we feel it adds a unique style to our home.
Vi købte 3 produkter til vores nye hus. "Balance" bruger vi som medicinskab på et sted, hvor vi dårligt ville kunne få plads til et skab med almindelige låger. Det fungerer rigtig godt. Vores dagligdags sko sidder lige inden for døren i "Grounded". Nydeligt og det virker. Endelig har vi en "Wasteless" hylde på badeværelset. Alt sammen i den blå farve med smukke egestokke.
Det er funktionelt, og vi synes det tilfører vores hjem noget unik stil.

Questions
Good to know
Missing an answer? Write to us and we’ll reply from the workshop.
Can I use Bjørk as a side table?
Yes. Bjørk works equally well as a stool, a compact side table for books or a plant, or a spare seat when guests arrive.
What materials are used?
A birch frame and a Valchromat® seat, all finished with Rubio Monocoat® hard wax oil.
What finish is on the wood?
The entire piece is treated with Rubio Monocoat® hard wax oil, which brings out the grain and is easy to look after.
How do I care for the finish?
Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry. Avoid harsh cleaners. For occasional maintenance, use Rubio Monocoat® Refresh Eco Spray to bring the protection and sheen back.
Does it arrive assembled?
Yes — Bjørk arrives fully assembled and ready to use straight out of the box.
Is each stool unique?
Yes. Minor variations in grain and surface are natural characteristics of birch — part of what makes each stool its own. The colour, however, stays consistent: Valchromat® is coloured all the way through.
Which seat height should I choose — 43 cm or 46 cm?
43 cm works well as a side table or low seat. If you're using the stool at a dining table or desk, we recommend 46 cm — without a backrest, sitting slightly higher feels more comfortable in practice.
Three heights to choose from: Kids (36 cm), Regular (43 cm) and Large (46 cm)
Large is 46 cm — slightly taller than standard to give good ergonomics at the dining table without a backrest
Birch plywood legs — light and strong
Valchromat® seat coloured all the way through — scratch it and find the same colour underneath
Finished with Rubio Monocoat® — plant-based hard wax oil, easy to wipe clean and refreshable after years of use
Handmade in our Copenhagen micro-factory — many sizes and colours kept in stock
Materials & Finish
Valchromat® (Seat)
Made from wood fibre board that's coloured all the way through, with a soft matte surface. If you scratch it, you'll find the same colour underneath.
Birch Plywood (Base & Legs)
Furniture-grade birch plywood from Northern Europe. Chosen for strength and stability; its pale grain stands out against the coloured seat.
Rubio Monocoat® (Finish)
Finished with Rubio Monocoat®, a plant-based hard wax oil that deepens colour, adds a silky touch, and protects against everyday spills and stains.
