Trinket Shelves

A trinket shelf is a wall-mounted grid of small compartments, made to display the things you actually care about instead of hiding them in a drawer. It started life as the printer's type case, and Quirky Moose has redrawn it for a modern wall: clean geometry, an asymmetric layout that gives every object its own frame, and Valchromat that is coloured all the way through rather than painted on the surface.

Handmade in Copenhagen. Hang one where a picture would normally go, and fill it with cups, stones, figures or whatever you have collected.

From the Printer's Type Case to Your Wall

The original trinket shelf was a printer's type case: a shallow tray of small compartments that held metal letters. When printing moved on, the trays moved onto living room walls and filled up with miniatures.

NicNac keeps the idea and redraws the geometry. Fewer and larger compartments in through-coloured Valchromat®, sized for the things people actually keep — an espresso cup, a beach stone, a small plant, a photograph.

Trinket Shelves in Danish Design

A trinket shelf is a wall-mounted grid of small compartments made for display rather than storage. Ours come in two shapes: NicNac in a square format, and the taller NicNac Tall for a narrow stretch of wall. Both are cut from solid-coloured Valchromat® with the raw coloured edge left on show.
